The project aims to requalify the existing Civic Art Gallery of Trento. These spaces always suffered low visibility and some sort of isolation due to their disposal around an inner courtyard within the city centre. The threshold that leads to the Civic Art Gallery looks exactly like the doorstep to a private residential courtyard. This situation certainly discoureged the participation and the accessibility of potential visitors. Our proposal aims to design a new space finally lived by the citizens, a space phisically and visually permeable, a space “easy” to be found, to get in, to be used. Therefore the project suggests to create a real pedestrian gallery that links Via Cavour with Via Belenzani. In this manner we create a new urban space, a “passage”, that crossing the gothic lot guaranteees wide exposure to the Civic Art Gallery’s activities.
Il progetto prevede la riqualificazione dell’attuale sede della Galleria Civica a Trento. Questi spazi hanno sempre sofferto di una scarsa visibilità e di un certo isolamento anche a causa della loro disposizione attorno a un cortile interno, seppure pregevole, del centro cittadino. La soglia che conduce alla Galleria Civica appare in tutto e per tutto l’ingresso ad un cortile residenziale privato. Questa situazione ha sicuramente sfavorito il coinvolgimento e l’accessibiltà dei potenziali visitatori. La proposta progettuale ambisce invece a definire uno spazio che sia al centro della vita cittadina, uno spazio fisicamente e visivamente permeabile, uno spazio che sia “semplice” nella localizzazione, nell’accesso e nella fruizione. Il progetto propone pertanto la creazione di una vera e propria galleria pedonale che unisca via Cavour con via Belenzani. In questo modo si crea un nuovo spazio urbano, un passage, che attraversando il lotto gotico garantisce ampia visibilità alle attività della Galleria Civica.
