The project for the area Rivarolo/Teglia in Genova consists of a process of strong densification of the existing urban tissue. The big arch of the railways HUB represents the doorstep that Genova offers to Europe towards the Medditerean sea and defines the core of a new urbanity based on the requalification of the dismissed industrial areas. Therefore the proposal is a united design extended to the whole residential area. The new square in front of the railway station represents the new reference public space for the valley floor, while the residential blocks articulated on a grid establish a new relationship with the existing urban tissue. The linear park along the river contects in a organic way the different elements of the intervention with the existing tissue. Here are placed the tertiary buildings that gently filter the image of the valley.
Il progetto per la zona di Rivarolo/Teglia di Genova si configura come un processo di forte densificazione del tessuto urbano esistente. Il grande arco del HUB ferroviario rappresenta la porta che Genova offre all’Europa verso il Mediterraneo e definisce per l’area il fulcro di una nuova urbanità basata sul recupero delle aree industriali in disuso. La proposta perciò tratteggia un’ipotesi progettuale unitaria per l’intero abitato. La piazza antistante la stazione rappresenta il nuovo punto di riferimento per il fondovalle, mentre i blocchi residenziali articolati secondo una griglia creano un rapporto con il tessuto urbano esistente. Il parco lineare lungo il fiume infine connette organicamente i diversi elementi dell’intervento con la trama esistente e ospita sopra di se gli edifici terziari che con leggerezza filtrano l’immagine della valle.
