The project for the new Plans sports area was born from a careful reading of the place and its topography. The green slopes that characterize the local mountain landscape, as well as the escarpments that delimit the current football field, become a design theme that allows us to reduce the visual impact of the emerging built volume. The new building thus appears as a compact building, arranged longitudinally, with only two levels above ground. A strong horizontal sign in the landscape, recognizable but at the same time measured. The diagram explains the project concept in a simple and immediate way: the rich and complex functional program is solved starting from the section. In doing so, the functions are separated while keeping them closely connected to each other, making them functionally autonomous but formally recognizable as part of a single building: the sports-related activities facing the football field, the youth center facing the woods. The only exception is the mountain rescue, located below the football field, a choice that allows the flows to be optimized and the built volume to be lightened.
Il progetto per la nuova zona sportiva Plans nasce da una lettura attenta del luogo e della sua topografia. I pendii verdi che caratterizzano il paesaggio montano locale, così come le scarpate che delimitano l’attuale campo da calcio, diventano un tema progettuale che ci consente di ridurre l’impatto visuale del volume costruito emergente. Il nuovo edificio viene così a presentarsi come un corpo di fabbrica compatto, disposto longitudinalmente, con due soli livelli fuori terra. Un segno orizzontale forte nel paesaggio, riconoscibile ma al tempo misurato. Il diagramma spiega in modo semplice e immediato il concept di progetto: il ricco e complesso programma funzionale è risolto a partire dalla sezione. Così facendo si separano le funzioni pur mantenendole strettamente connesse tra loro, rendendole funzionalmente autonome ma formalmente riconoscibili come parte di un unico edificio: le attività legate allo sport rivolte verso il campo da calcio, il centro giovanile verso il bosco. Unica eccezione il soccorso alpino, posto al di sotto del campo da calcio, scelta che consente di ottimizzare i flussi e alleggerire il volume costruito.
